Regular Season Round 28: PeU-Basket - Tapiolan Honka 62-75

There was no surprise in Pernio where 3rd ranked PeU-Basket (21-7) was defeated by first ranked Tapiolan Honka (25-3) 75-62 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Tapiolan Honka dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to PeU-Basket's 30. They outrebounded PeU-Basket 50-29 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ilkka Sirola (198-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jouko Jarvinen (192-87) who added 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Tapiolan Honka's coach Ville Neva used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Henry Pwono (201-91, college: East Central) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Sami Himberg (184-89) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Tapiolan Honka maintains first position in Division with 25-3 record. Loser PeU-Basket dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost.
