We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 18th ranked Kara Trutnov (5-16) lost on the road to nineteenth ranked Sokol Slapnice (5-15) 84-77 on Sunday. Sokol Slapnice made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Kara Trutnov was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Jan Rotrekl (196-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Zdenek Sebela (192-87) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Sokol Slapnice players scored in double figures. Forward Jan Malik (198-85) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ladislav Maly (181-84) added 16 points and 7 assists in the effort for Kara Trutnov. Sokol Slapnice moved-up to eighteenth place in Places 13-20. Loser Kara Trutnov dropped to the nineteenth position with 16 games lost. Sokol Slapnice will face higher ranked Basket Kosice (#16) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kara Trutnov will play against Vysocina in Jihlava and hope to win that game.
