Regular Season Round 19: AD Vagos - Sporting 68-39

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Sporting (7-12) was crushed on the road by eleventh ranked AD Vagos (6-13) 68-39 on Sunday. The game without a history. AD Vagos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sporting's 24. AD Vagos forced 24 Sporting turnovers and outrebounded them 39-23 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward EeTisha Riddle (191-85, college: Missouri) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Daniela Domingues (176-92) chipped in 21 points. International point guard Ines Faustino (170-92) produced 12 points and 6 assists and Spanish Arantxa Mallou (181-91) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AD Vagos maintains eleventh place with 6-13 record. Newly promoted Sporting dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. AD Vagos will face higher ranked Lousada (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
