Semi-Finals Game 1: Arak - Petrochimi 86-100
Date: March 14, 2016
Petrochemi cruised past Arak to seal their Superleague Finals appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Arak was better in fourth quarter 34-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Petrochimi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Arak's 40. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 assists. American guard Taquan Dean (193-83, college: Louisville) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Croatian power forward Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) answered with 27 points and international center Asghar Kardoust (212-86) added 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Arak. Four Arak players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
