Regular Season Round 23: Ironi Nahariya - Maccabi K/G 90-87

Eleventh-ranked Maccabi K/G (7-16) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Ironi Nahariya (13-11) on Monday. Ironi Nahariya managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected much easier game. Ironi Nahariya made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Gilbert Brown (198-87, college: Pittsburgh) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals and swingman Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) scored 21 points. Ironi Nahariya moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Maccabi K/G dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. They share it with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Ironi Nahariya will meet Hapoel Eilat (#8) on the road in the next round. Maccabi K/G will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#7) and hope to secure a win.
