BSN top team - Caciques (8-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Atleticos (4-6) in Humacao 92-88. Atleticos were ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Caciques, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Caciques players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Carl English (192-81, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!). American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Caciques' coach Flor Melendez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Inception Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds and the former international forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 22 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Atleticos. Four Atleticos players scored in double figures. Caciques have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record. Atleticos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Caciques' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Vaqueros (#11) in Bayamon and are hoping to win another game. Atleticos will play on the road against Manati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
