Regular Season Round 26: Gediz - Meliksah 74-81

Another upset was a game between Gediz (18-8) and Meliksah (11-15), which took place in Gediz. Higher ranked Gediz lost at home to fourteenth ranked Meliksah 74-81 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gediz won fourth quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. Forward Hadi Dogan (203-86) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Demontez Stitt (187-89, college: Clemson, agency: HMS) replied with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gediz. Four Gediz players scored in double figures. Meliksah have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Gediz dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Meliksah will face higher ranked Sakarya BSB (#4) in Sakaraya in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gediz will play on the road against Akhisar Bld and hope to win that game.
