The game in Mayaguez was also quite interesting. Third ranked Capitanes (7-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Indios (4-5). Capitanes managed to secure a 7-point victory 79-72 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Indios. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 29-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Capitanes made 9 blocks. The former international guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) scored 17 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) chipped in 6 points and 18 rebounds during the contest.
