An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Burgos. Third ranked Burgos faced one of their biggest challengers Lobe Huesca. Host Burgos (15-11) defeated guests from Huesca (14-12) 83-70. The game without a history. Burgos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Croatian power forward Filip Toncinic (212-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Rafael Huertas (191-84, agency: Court Side) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Five Burgos players scored in double figures. Burgos' coach Francisco Hernandez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) replied with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Icelandic point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-91, college: Newberry, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 13 points in the effort for Lobe Huesca. Burgos maintains third position with 15-11 record having six points less than leader Palencia, which they share with Oviedo. Lobe Huesca at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Coruna. Burgos will play against bottom-ranked CB Prat (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lobe Huesca will play against Castello (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
