Regular Season Round 27: Meliksah - Sakarya BSB 76-49

An interesting game took place in Kayseri where 4th placed Sakarya BSB (18-9) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Meliksah (12-15) 76-49 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sakarya BSB. The game was mostly controlled by Meliksah. Sakarya BSB was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Meliksah especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. His fellow American import Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) helped adding 13 points. Five Meliksah players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meliksah have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sakarya BSB dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Meliksah will face higher ranked Balikesir (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sakarya BSB will play against Akhisar Bld and hope to win that game.
