Regular Season Round 11: Santurce - Ponce 92-73

Date: March 18, 2016
The game with biggest result difference took place in Santurce. Local Cangrejeros (7-4) outscored 10th ranked Leones (4-8) 92-73 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Cangrejeros. Leones managed to win fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Leones 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Cangrejeros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Damion James (201-87, college: Texas, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Javon McCrea (201-92, college: Buffalo) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) responded with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Dominican swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cangrejeros maintains third place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Humacao. Defending champion Leones keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Cangrejeros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leones will play against Santeros (#5) and hope to secure a win.
