Regular Season Round 24: Ironi Nes-Ziona - Maccabi Haifa 63-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Maccabi Haifa (15-9) beat bottom-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (7-17) in Nes Ziyona 73-63 on Saturday. Maccabi Haifa made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Ironi Nes-Ziona turnovers. Ironi Nes-Ziona was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman William Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. The other American import point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. DiBartolomeo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. American guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) replied with 16 points and international point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Haifa maintains third position with 15-9 record having just three points less than leader Hapoel J-M. Ironi Nes-Ziona lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 17 games lost. Maccabi Haifa will face league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Bnei Hasharon (#4) in Hod Hasharon and hope to win that game.
