Regular Season Round 27: Tofas - Eskisehir Basket 83-70

TBL top team - Tofas (25-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Eskisehir Basket (12-15) in Bursa 83-70. The game was mostly controlled by Tofas. Eskisehir Basket was better in fourth quarter 23-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tofas players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a quality performance for American power forward Jarvis Williams (203-93, college: Murray St.) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Forward Gokhan Yazicioglu (200-90) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American center Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Eskisehir Basket in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas maintains first place with 25-2 record. Eskisehir Basket lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Tofas will play against Mamak DSI (#13) in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eskisehir Basket will play at home against Afyon (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
