Very expected game in Santa Cruz where 9th ranked Torrelodones (7-13) was defeated by fifth ranked Tenerife Naut. (12-7) 66-51 on Saturday. Tenerife Naut. dominated on the defensive end, holding Torrelodones to just 7 points in second quarter. Tenerife Naut. forced 19 Torrelodones turnovers. It was a great evening for power forward Samuel Rodriguez (200-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Juan Andres Garcia (199-79) helped adding 6 points and 10 rebounds. Tenerife Naut.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and center Jordan Shako (209-97, agency: Beo Basket) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Tenerife Naut. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place in Group B with 12-7 record. Torrelodones lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face Real Canoe (#7) in Madrid in the next round. Torrelodones will play at home against Real Madrid II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
