Regular Season Round 21: Kumanovo - Best Gevgelija 115-73

Bottom-ranked Best Gevgelija (0-21) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 115-73 loss to third ranked Kumanovo 2009 (14-7) in Kumanovo. The game was mostly controlled by Kumanovo 2009. Best Gevgelija was better in third quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Best Gevgelija 46-29 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kumanovo 2009 players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Best Gevgelija's players. It was a good game for the former international power forward Bojan Trajkovski (206-88, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. International swingman Marko Simonovski (191-89, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Ty Harris (188, college: Columbus St.) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian Milan Markovic added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Best Gevgelija. Five Kumanovo 2009 and four Best Gevgelija players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumanovo 2009 maintains third place with 14-7 record having three points less than leader MZT Skopje. Newly promoted Best Gevgelija still closes the standings. Kumanovo 2009 will play against Rabotnicki (#6) in Skopje in the next round. Best Gevgelija will play on the road against the league's leader MZT Skopje and hopes to get finally their first victory.
