Regular Season Round 32: Vytautas - Neptunas 82-72

The most important game in the last round took place in Prienai between third ranked Neptunas (16-13) and fourth ranked Vytautas (16-13) on Saturday night. Neptunas was defeated by Vytautas on the road 82-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Neptunas. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-72. Vytautas made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Neptunas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Vytautas players scored in double figures. Arnas Butkevicius (197-92) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American center Trent Plaisted (211-86, college: BYU, agency: Priority Sports) scored 15 points. Neptunas' coach Dainius Adomaitis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vytautas moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Neptunas. Vytautas is looking forward to face Siauliai (#6) at home in the next round. Neptunas will play against Juventus in Utena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
