Regular Season Round 40: Prostejov - Svitavy 83-75

Very expected game when 8th ranked Basketbal Svitavy (15-23) was defeated on the road by second ranked Prostejov (26-11) 83-75 on Saturday. Basketbal Svitavy trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 16-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-83 at the end of the game. Prostejov had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Basketbal Svitavy's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Lukas Palyza (202-89) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Brett Roseboro (208-91, college: UMBC, agency: HMS) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Prostejov players scored in double figures. Prostejov's coach Zbynek Choleva used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Evan Bruinsma (203, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) scored 18 points and 9 assists. Prostejov maintains second position with 26-11 record having just two points less than leader BK Decin. Basketbal Svitavy lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 23 games lost. Prostejov will meet BK Opava (#4) on the road in the next round. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Kolin (#5) and hope to secure a win.
