The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Gussing Knights (26-4) in Wien on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Vienna (17-13) 71-56. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Gussing Knights. The game without a history. Vienna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Gussing Knights 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (189-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 assists. American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Vienna players scored in double figures. International point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: HMS) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Gussing Knights. Gussing Knights' coach rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vienna maintains third position with 17-13 record having nine points less than leader Gussing. Defending champion Gussing Knights still keep top place with four games lost. Vienna are looking forward to face Furstenfeld Panthers (#6) on the road in the next round. Gussing Knights will play against Gmunden Swans (#8) and are hoping to win this game.
