There was a surprise result in Ostrava where twentieth ranked VK VSB Ost. (4-18) beat higher ranked Sokol Pisek (11-11) 107-90 on Sunday. VK VSB Ost. dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Sokol Pisek's 46. They outrebounded Sokol Pisek 54-24 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jan Leczo (197-96) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Daniel Klimek (188-96) chipped in 11 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. Five VK VSB Ost. players scored in double figures. VK VSB Ost.'s coach Miroslav Pacut used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Michal Voldan (185-94) scored 22 points and 5 steals. VK VSB Ost. maintains twentieth position in Places 13-20 with 4-18 record. Newly promoted Sokol Pisek keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. VK VSB Ost. will face higher ranked Basket Kosice (#16) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
