Regular Season Round 24: Rosa Radom - Polpharma 72-66

Everything went according to plan in Radom where second ranked Rosa (20-5) beat 13th ranked Polpharma (7-18) 72-66. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Polpharma was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 41-26 second half run of Rosa. 24 personal fouls committed by Polpharma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for international swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. American point guard Torey Thomas (178-85, college: Holy Cross) contributed with 8 points and 8 assists for the winners. Rosa's coach Wojciech Kaminski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) added 20 points in the effort for Polpharma. Rosa maintains second position with 20-5 record behind leader Stelmet ZG, which they share with Anwil. Polpharma at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Rosa's next round opponent will be Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk. Polpharma will play at home against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
