Regular Season Round 28: Sakhalin - Irkutsk 73-51

Superleague 1 top team - Sakhalin (20-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Irkut Irkutsk (5-16) in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk 73-51. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Irkut Irkutsk. Sakhalin held Irkut Irkutsk to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Sakhalin forced 20 Irkut Irkutsk turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Irkut Irkutsk's players. The winners were led by international Aleksandr Gudumak (203-93, agency: Alti Sport) who scored that evening 16 points and Artem Komolov (194-93) supported him with 11 points and 6 assists. Sakhalin's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 13 points and 4 assists by guard Viktor Kashin (193-94) did not help to save the game for Irkut Irkutsk. Ukrainian point guard Oleksandr Panchenko (184-84) added 10 points for lost side. Newly promoted Sakhalin maintains first position with 20-3 record. Irkut Irkutsk at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Sakhalin will play against league's second-placed Novosybirsk at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Irkut Irkutsk will play against Spartak-Prim. (#8) in Vladivostok and hopes to get back on the winning track.
