Regular Season Round 28: Pinheiros - B.Cearense 93-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Sao Paolo between third ranked SKY/Basquete (18-9) and seventh ranked Pinheiros (14-12) on Wednesday night. SKY/Basquete was defeated by Pinheiros on the road 93-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SKY/Basquete. The game was mostly controlled by Pinheiros. SKY/Basquete managed to win fourth quarter 35-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 25 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who added 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Pinheiros maintains seventh position with 14-12 record. SKY/Basquete at the other side dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Pinheiros are looking forward to face Universo/Vitoria (#12) in Salvador in the next round where they are favorite. SKY/Basquete will play on the road against Caxias do Sul (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
