FoKoPo outlasted Jarvenpaa to gain 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. Forssan Koripojat dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Jarvenpaa's 28. American point guard Ramon Nelson (175-90, college: USC Aiken) fired 29 points and 8 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Shane Heyward (198-92, college: Columbus St.) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forssan Koripojat's coach Joonas Iisalo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and point guard Leo Tarjanne (189-95) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
