Semi-Finals Game 5: Fuerza Regia - Pioneros 78-89

Pioneros shot down Fuerza Regia to win the semifinal series 4-1. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 52-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Pioneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The former international center Adam Parada (213-81, college: Cal-Irvine) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five Pioneros players scored in double figures. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Bo Spencer (185-89, college: Nebraska) added 15 points and 12 assists in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
