Regular Season Round 28: Balikesir - Meliksah 85-82

Tenth-ranked Meliksah (12-16) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Balikesir (16-12). Balikesir managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Meliksah. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. The winners were led by American point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85, college: S.Carolina) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 assists and guard Ahmet Tuncer (193-93, agency: 1x1 Sports) supported him with 20 points. Balikesir's coach Mete Babaoglu allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 29 points and 9 assists by American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) did not help to save the game for Meliksah. His fellow American import Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) added 12 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Four Meliksah players scored in double figures. Balikesir maintains sixth position with 16-12 record. Meliksah at the other side keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. Balikesir's next round opponent will be Akhisar Bld (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Meliksah will play against Final Genclik (#15) and hope to win that game.
