Semi-Finals Game 1: Valur - Skallagrimur 80-74

Valur defeated Skallagrimur in the opener. Skallagrimur was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 28-21 charge of Valur, which allowed them to win the game. Valur outrebounded Skallagrimur 46-34 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Jamie Stewart (193-91, college: Montana St., agency: Inception Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Illugi Audunsson (196-92) chipped in 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Bahamas swingman J.R. Cadot (196-87, college: TCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Sigtryggur Bjornsson (180-93) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
