BSN top team - Capitanes (11-5) added another victory to their record on Tuesday. This time they beat tenth ranked Leones (6-11) in Juana Diaz 96-90. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 31-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Angel Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) replied with 26 points and 9 assists and American forward Daniel Orton (208-90, college: Kentucky) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Leones. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes maintains first position with 11-5 record. Defending champion Leones dropped to the bottom place with 11 games lost. Capitanes are looking forward to face league's second-placed Caciques in Humacao in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play on the road against Piratas (#6) in Quebradillas and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
