Semi-Finals Game 1: Fjolnir - IA 79-73

Fjolnir secured the winning start to their semifinal campaign. They overcame visiting IA in the opener. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But IA won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fjolnir players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American forward Collin Pryor (200-90, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and swingman Gardar Sveinbjornsson (192-87) accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Fjolnir's coach Hjalti Vilhjalmsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Sean Tate (173, college: Dalton St.) came up with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Fannar Helgason (202-84) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for IA in the defeat.
