Finals Game 1: Tapiolan Honka - Lahti 76-85

Lahti got to the winning start of Group B Finals. They upset Tapiolan Honka on the road in the opener. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Lahti outrebounded Tapiolan Honka 47-28 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Tapiolan Honka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Vesa Makalainen (200-86) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Deonta Stocks (185, college: W.Georgia) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Lahti's coach Arttu Mannelin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Panu Vertio (192-86) produced 26 points and forward Ilkka Sirola (198-86) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
