Regular Season Round 24: Dynamo - Mykolaiv 89-71

There was no surprise in Kyiv where 6th ranked Mykolaiv (13-18) was defeated by third ranked Dynamo (23-9) 89-71 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo. Mykolaiv managed to win third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Dynamo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Artur Drozdov (199-80, agency: Comsport) who scored 13 points and 5 assists. International guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91) chipped in 16 points. Five Dynamo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Oleksandr Tsikaliuk (204-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Denis Ivanov (195-78) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dynamo have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Dynamo maintains third position with 23-9 record having just three points less than leader SC Kryvbas. Mykolaiv lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Dynamo are looking forward to face Cherkasy (#4) at home in the next round. Mykolaiv will play against Infiz Basket in Kyiv and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
