The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Indios' (6-10) road loss to eighth ranked Vaqueros (8-10) 92-102. The game was mostly controlled by Vaqueros. Indios was better in fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Vaqueros players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Alex Franklin (198-88, college: Siena) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. American Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) added 24 points in the effort for Indios. Indios' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros moved-up to seventh place. Indios lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Vaqueros' next round opponent will be higher ranked Brujos (#6) in Guayama and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
