Second Stage Round 7: Sokol Pisek - Sokol Slapnice 84-92

An interesting game took place in Pisek, where higher ranked Sokol Pisek (11-12) lost at home to eighteenth ranked Sokol Slapnice (7-15) 84-92 on Friday. Sokol Slapnice outrebounded Sokol Pisek 41-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Zdenek Sebela (192-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Filip Smid (194-92) helped adding 21 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sokol Slapnice players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and guard Michal Voldan (185-94) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sokol Slapnice have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Kondori Lib. Newly promoted Sokol Pisek keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Sokol Slapnice will meet BK Kondori Liberec (#17) on the road in the next round. Sokol Pisek will play against Havirov (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
