Quarter-Finals Round 1: Kataja Basket - BC Nokia 88-94

BC Nokia upset Kataja Basket away from home in the quarterfinal opener. Joensuun Kataja was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 34-27 charge of BC Nokia, which allowed them to win the game. Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87) fired 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Daniel Bailey (196-90, college: Queens, NC) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced 22 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Teemu Rannikko (189-80) added 20 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Five Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures.
