Date: April 1, 2016
Kauhajoki cruised past Helsinki Seagulls in the opener. Kauhajoen Karhu dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Helsinki Seagulls' 24. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Antti Kanervo (192-89, agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. American swingman Cade Davis (197-88, college: Oklahoma, agency: Two Points) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Kauhajoen Karhu players scored in double figures. American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) added 11 points (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Helsinki Seagulls. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
