Regular Season Round 29: Afyon - Mamak DSI 78-69

Date: April 2, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Mamak DSI (11-18) lost to seventh ranked Afyon (15-14) in Afyonkarahisar 69-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-13. But Mamak DSI won third quarter 27-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) chipped in 19 points and 8 assists. Power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: Massachusetts) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Mamak DSI's coach Haydar Kemal Ates tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Afyon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 15-14 record. Mamak DSI lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Afyon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gediz (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mamak DSI will play against Socar Petkim (#8) and hope to win that game.
