Caixas do Sul fired past Brasilia for the opening victory. The game was mostly controlled by Caxias do Sul. Brasilia was better in third quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 33 personal fouls committed by Brasilia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-88) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. Guto Pereira (190-83) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Caxias do Sul players scored in double figures. International point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) answered with 23 points and international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) added 13 points in the effort for Brasilia. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
