The game in Imola was also quite interesting. Second ranked Mantovana (20-7) played at the court of 5th ranked Andrea Costa IM (17-10). Mantovana managed to secure a 9-point victory 64-55 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Andrea Costa IM won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American center Kenneth Simms (205-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was naturalized Argentinian swingman Patricio Prato (194-79) with 7 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Leonard Washington (201-88, college: Wyoming, agency: Two Points) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Andrea Costa IM's coach Giampiero Ticchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mantovana maintains second place in A2 with 20-7 record having just two point less than leader Scafati. Loser Andrea Costa IM dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Mantovana will face league's leader Treviso Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Andrea Costa IM will play against Legnano in Castellanza and hope to win that game.
