Bottom-ranked Atleticos managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses on Monday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Piratas in San German 83-77. The hosts trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 30-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Atleticos dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 20 and made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Raymond Cintron Cortes (183-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led the winners and scored 16 points. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. The former international Elias Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Paris Global Sports) came up with 21 points and 4 assists and American-Italian guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for Piratas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atleticos (7-12) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ponce. Loser Piratas keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Atleticos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Piratas will play against Indios (#11) and hope to secure a win.
