Regular Season Round 20: Quebradillas - Mayaguez 83-89

Date: April 6, 2016
Bottom-ranked Indios managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the five-game losing streak. This time they won against sixth-ranked Piratas in Quebradillas 89-83. Indios made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. American Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international swingman Angel Luis Figueroa (196-81, college: Dowling) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Brian Conklin (198-89, college: St.Louis) replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Jorge Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Piratas. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. Piratas' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Indios (7-12) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ponce and San German. Piratas at the other side keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Indios' next round opponent will be higher ranked Cangrejeros (#4) in Santurce and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
