Regular Season Round 24: MZT Skopje - Rabotnicki 81-71

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Skopje: MZT Skopje (#1) and Rabotnicki (#6). MZT Skopje (21-2) won against visiting Rabotnicki (10-14) 81-71. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 10 points. MZT Skopje outrebounded Rabotnicki 42-25 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Serbian swingman Djordje Drenovac (202-92) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Serbian Marko Lukovic (207-92, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. MZT Skopje's coach Aleksandar Joncevski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Gjorgi Cekovski (203-79) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Dimitar Mirakovski (177-81, agency: Interperformances) added 23 points and 5 assists respectively. MZT Skopje have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-2 record. Rabotnicki at the other side keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. MZT Skopje are looking forward to face Kozuv (#5) in Gevgelija in the next round. Rabotnicki will play on the road against Feni Industries in Kavadarci and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
