There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Havirov (10-14) defeated at home 13th ranked Sokol Pisek (11-13) 83-76. They outrebounded Sokol Pisek 47-36 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Havirov brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Center Jan Kolonicny (207) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Jan Lycka (186-93) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Havirov players scored in double figures. Swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and center Dalibor Fait (203-93) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Sokol Pisek. Havirov moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Vysocina. Sokol Pisek lost third consecutive game. Sokol Pisek at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Havirov will play against Basket Kosice (#17) on the road in the next round. Sokol Pisek will play against Vysocina (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
