Important game to mention about took place in Guayama. Second ranked Caciques (14-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Brujos (10-11) 80-77 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brujos. Brujos were ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Caciques, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for guard Rasham Suarez (190-92, college: S.Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Caciques players scored in double figures. Caciques' coach Flor Melendez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized American guard Darnell Hinson (185-80, college: Northeastern St.) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Brujos. Caciques keep a position of league leader. Brujos at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Caciques will play against Leones (#10) in Juana Diaz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brujos will have a break next round.
