Regular Season Round 25: Segle XXI - Andratx 68-64

There was no surprise in Barcelona where 14th ranked Andratx (4-21) was defeated by eleventh ranked Segle XXI (7-18) 68-64 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Andratx won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Segle XXI won last quarter 17-15. Segle XXI outrebounded Andratx 47-33 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Paula Ginzo (187-98) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Center Laia Sole (184-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Segle XXI players scored in double figures. Segle XXI's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Esther Morillo (169-79) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and Brigida Gual (-97) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Segle XXI maintains eleventh place in Group B with 7-18 record, which they share with Olimpico 64. Loser Andratx keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Segle XXI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena Barcelona.
