Semi-Finals Game 5: Pure Youth - Fubon Braves 86-76

Pure Youth outgunned Fubon Braves to secure 3-2 lead in the semifinal series. It looked good early as Fubon Braves took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pure Youth had a 24-14 second period charge getting the lead and Fubon Braves were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-86. Pure Youth made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Swingman Kan Hiroshi (195-85) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-85) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. American center Earl Barron (211-81, college: Memphis) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and the former international guard Yung-Jen Wu (177-82) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
