Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#3) and MIA (#8). Dinamo Tbilisi (15-10) crushed visiting MIA (5-20) by 28 points 94-66. The game was mostly controlled by Dinamo Tbilisi. MIA managed to win third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dinamo Tbilisi dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to MIA's 28. Dinamo Tbilisi forced 26 MIA turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by MIA's players. The former international Mikheil Berishvili (204-87) nailed 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Serbian swingman Maksim Kovacevic (196-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) accounted for 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Dinamo Tbilisi players scored in double figures. Dinamo Tbilisi's coach Irakli Khoshtaria felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Akaki Lomouri (198-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Merab Bokolishvili (196-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for MIA in the defeat. Dinamo Tbilisi maintains third place with 15-10 record having just two points less than leader Batumi. MIA lost their third game in a row. Defending champion stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Sokhumi.
