Regular Season Round 27: Maccabi K/G - Hapoel Holon 86-81

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Hapoel Holon (10-17) lost to eleventh ranked Maccabi K/G (10-17) in Kiryat Gat 81-86. Hapoel Holon was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 48-42 second half run of Maccabi K/G. They outrebounded Hapoel Holon 40-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) who scored 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Maccabi K/G moved-up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Hapoel Holon. Maccabi K/G's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (#12) in Nes Ziyona.
