Haukar fired past Grindavik to join Snaefell in the Finals. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Grindavik to just 1 points in first quarter and to 11 points in first half. Haukar held Grindavik to an opponent 18.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Grindavik 50-36 including a 43-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Haukar made 9 blocks. The former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and Sylvia Run Halfdanardottir (-98) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Whitney Frazier (183-92, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Merit Management Group) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Ingibjorg Jakobsdottir (177-90) scored 5 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
