The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Strangely Neptunas outrebounded Siauliai 39-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored that evening 12 points and 7 rebounds and Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) supported him with 12 points. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) did not help to save the game for Neptunas. Center Vytautas Sarakauskas (205-82) added 6 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Siauliai have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Neptunas. Neptunas lost fifth consecutive game. Siauliai's next round opponent will be P.Zvaigzdes (#8) in Pasvalys. Neptunas will play on the road against Lietkabelis in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
