Regular Season Round 31: Acibadem - Mamak DSI 76-71

Very predictable result in Istanbul where second ranked Acibadem (23-8) beat 13th ranked Mamak DSI (12-19) 76-71. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mamak DSI was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 19-12 charge of Acibadem, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Mamak DSI 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: Massachusetts) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for Mamak DSI in the defeat. Mamak DSI's coach Haydar Kemal Ates tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second place with 23-8 record having five points less than leader Tofas, which they share with Denizli. Mamak DSI at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Acibadem's next round opponent will be Gediz (#5) on the road. Mamak DSI will play against Eskisehir Basket (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
