The game in Guayama was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Capitanes (14-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Brujos (12-12). Capitanes defeated Brujos 90-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brujos. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Brujos was better in fourth quarter 27-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Brujos' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) fired 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Capitanes' coach Rafael Cruz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Four Capitanes and five Brujos players scored in double figures. Capitanes moved-up to second place, which they share with Santurce. Brujos at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Capitanes will have a break next round. Brujos will play on the road against Santeros (#5) in Coamo and hope to win that game.
